Reception –  English Stream

Croeso! Welcome to Dosbarth Nant yr Arian’s class page.

Our class teacher is Mrs Nichola Davies and our TA is Miss Kerrie McCarthy.

We will be learning though play based, practical activities with small adult led focus groups or working independently on simple challenges in Amser Enfys (independent child-led learning).

This term, our theme is “The Water of Life”.  We will be concentrating on Science-based activities and will be learning about the weather and seasons, floating and sinking and the properties of water. There will also be a focus on Expressive Arts and we will be creating art, dances and music on the theme of water. We will also be learning about the story behind the brook our class is named after and the rivers in Builth Wells, namely the River Wye (Gwy) and the River Irfon. In addition, we will be looking at how water is used in the naming ceremonies in different religions, focusing on a Baptism.

P.E. 

Our P.E. lesson will be on Thursday this term. The lessons will be held outside and we ask that the children come to school in their P.E. kit on this day. We will also be outside for our ‘Out Out and Away’ session on Tuesday afternoons.
